Our drivers are the face of RATP Dev London and they are the real ambassadors of our business and the bus industry as a whole. Balancing customer orientation and safety, they can transform an everyday journey into a truly positive experience for our customers. The winner of this category will be a team player who has high personal standards and outstanding customer service skills. We are looking for drivers who demonstrate great driving ability, a helpful attitude and have a good awareness of Transport for London performance criteria. There are many drivers out there who are deserving of this award, so please consider nominating one of your colleagues.
Our ‘Top Team’ award is open to a group of two or more individuals who have succeeded together in delivering some great results. It is open to any team throughout the company, whether they work at head office or in a garage. The winning team could be a functional department, an engineering team, a group of controllers or colleagues who have worked together on a specific project that has delivered results and improvements. There are some fantastic examples of teamwork throughout the company so if one of these springs to mind, please nominate a team.
Our technicians provide a great service by ensuring a steady flow of buses that are fit for delivering our bus services. They work very much behind the scenes, unheard and unseen but without them, we would not be able to deliver our operations day in day out. If you know of a mechanic, electrician, coach maker or other craftsman who achieves excellence by consistently delivering to exceptionally high standards then why not nominate them for an Inspire award.
Safety underpins everything we do and involves every single colleague who works for the company. This award recognises the contributions that our people make to create a safe place to work. Examples are someone who has shown strong personal leadership by suggesting safety procedures and practices that have had a positive impact on behaviours or maybe a colleague who reports hazards thus preventing incidents or injury. If this sounds like someone you know, then please nominate a colleague.
Everyone of us in RATP Dev London has a customer so this category is open to any individual or team that truly goes beyond what is expected by demonstrating helpfulness, willingness, dependability and a ‘can do’ attitude. Drivers with a strong focus on customer service come to mind but the winner could, in fact, be doing any job in the company. Our service controllers’ customers, for example, are our drivers. If you have been impressed by a colleague or team who put customer service at the heart of everything they do, then submit your nomination for this award.
Our managers throughout RATP Dev London are responsible for leading the organisation to deliver its greatest potential. As part of this aim, they provide strong leadership, motivation and inspiration to their teams. Have you been encouraged by a manager’s support? Have you been impressed with the way a manager has handled a particular issue? Does your manager do a great job? There are many managers deserving of an Inspire award so if you know of one, don’t hesitate to nominate him or her.
This award is all about someone who makes a difference in our community. London’s iconic red buses play a key part in every community they serve transporting people all over the capital. Our community champion should be someone who shows personal leadership and really goes further either in their work by helping our business and the community succeed together or personally by having high levels of involvement and contributing both time and energy to making a change!

RATP Dev London now has apprentices working in engineering departments across the company as well as in some administrative roles. This year, we are asking you to single out one you know to be thoughtful of our customer’s needs when working. Is the apprentice you have in mind keen to learn, hard-working and enthusiastic? If so, then show your support by putting your colleague forward for an Inspire award.
